The coronavirus pandemic has made significant changes in cultural and social life, and many events have been canceled or postponed indefinitely. Amidst this chaos, the TV Emmy Awards are still an island of stability.

It is known that the 72nd ceremony will take place on September 20, and Jimmy Kimmel will be its host. It is not yet clear whether the nominees will attend in person or connect via Zoom (recall that last year the broadcast was watched by a record low number of viewers), but who has a hope to pick up the coveted statuette, we already know. Here is a list of the main nominees.

As usual, before the announcement of the nominees, the experts were engaged in predictions. Top favorites included Mrs. America, a drama about the battle for gender equality, and Watchmen, an adaptation of the late 1980s comic book series. Success was also predicted for the series “The Incredible” (based on the true story of a young girl who was charged for false testimony) and “Normal People” – the adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Sally Rooney. Let’s see if these predictions come true!
