It is finished! A new episode of Friends will air on HBO Max in May this year. This was reported by employees of WarnerMedia Corporation, which includes the HBO television network. A special 60-minute episode will be available to subscribers of the new HBO Max streaming service along with all 236 episodes of the series.
The new series will feature all the stars of the series: Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courtney Cox (Monica), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), Matthew Perry (Chandler) and David Schwimmer (Ross).
They also executive produced alongside Kevin Bright and Martha Kaufman. Ben Winston of The Late Late Show is directing the project. According to rumors, each actor was supposed to receive from 3 to 4 million dollars for the shooting, however, as Variety found out, this amount would eventually amount to 2.5 million dollars.
Jennifer Aniston posted on Instagram a joint photo with Courtney, Lisa, Matt, Matthew and David, which was taken in the 1990s. The rest of the actors on their pages also shared a similar post.
The media reported that Friends will be reunited back in November 2019. However, HBO and Warner Bros. then declined to comment. Actors and directors vehemently rejected any possibility of a resumption of the series, which was recognized as one of the best in the history of American television in its genre and was awarded six Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
