Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones
Fans of Game of Thrones will have to be patient: HBO CEO Casey Bloys said the prequel to the series, dubbed House of the Dragon, will be out in two years at the earliest.
I think it will happen around 2022,
– he said and added that George Martin and Ryan Kondal are already working hard on the script for the show.
The prequel will unfold 300 years before the events shown in the cult fantasy saga, and will tell about the Targaryen house, the ancestors of the Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen.
Obviously, this will be a very large-scale and complex show,
– said Blois and added that there is no news about the casting yet.
For me at the moment, the priority is to launch the “House of the Dragon” on the air. There are no other projects yet. Perhaps they will appear in the future, but so far we have no such plans. We’re all focused on Dragon House
– he said.
It is already known that the spin-off “Game of Thrones” will include 10 episodes, and it will be based on the novel by George Martin “Fire & Blood”.
Interestingly, HBO has already attempted to work on a prequel to the saga called The Long Night and even filmed a pilot episode starring Naomi Watts, but the project was closed for some unknown reason.
